Raul's Story
Raul Trevino Jr. was one of millions of Americans who lost their jobs in 2020 as the coronavirus pandemic swept the nation. Raul was a maintenance worker at an apartment complex in Ennis, Texas, and he was laid off late last year. Then, like so many others, he spent the holiday season jobless and hoping for a brighter 2021.
In January, Raul’s luck changed. The 51-year-old grandfather, who likes to coach his grandchildren in Little League baseball, needed a new car to help him take care of his family and get to a new job. He went to several dealerships trying to find a car that met his needs and he could afford.
He finally found what he needed at Toyota of Dallas. And as he worked on the deal with the dealership’s sales and finance teams, he looked up and was surprised by an unexpected visitor. It was Exeter Senior Vice President of Sales Matt Page.
Matt introduced himself and told Raul some fantastic news. He said Raul was Exeter’s one millionth customer, and in recognition of reaching that milestone, the company was going to give him the car – at no charge. Check out the video just above to see what that moment looked like. Then, immediately below, enjoy watching our video of the ceremony when we officially presented Raul with his car and a special gift!
